Obituary of Denver Rosier

Denver Lee Rosier, Sr., age 81a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, of St. George passed away from this life into the arms of his savior on Monday May 5, 2014. He was born on May 15, 1932 a son of the late Saul and Cora Isabelle (Channel) Rosier. On June 27, 1953 he was united in marriage to the former Virginia “Vergie” (Ball) Rosier who survives. Also surviving are daughter Barbara Mathias and husband Tom of Moorefield, son Denver Lee Rosier Jr., and wife Connie of Elkins, and daughter Carolyn Pifer and husband Kevin of St. George. Grandsons Justin and Amanda Campbell, Wyatt and Stephanie Pifer and Jonathan and Jennifer Rosier. Granddaughter, Jessy and Justin Vandevender Step- grandchildren, Melissa and Jeremy Sexton, Michael Mathias and Megan Mathias Two great granddaughters and eight step great grandchildren. Special nephew and wife, Robert and Beverly Rosier Mr. Rosier was preceded in death by a precious grandson, Aaron Logan Campbell, two brothers Stearl and Vance Rosier, one sister Stella Rosier Sherman. He served in the US Army from 1955-1957 as a Radar Operator, and the A.A.A. Artillery. He worked in the logging industry for 23 years, was a heavy equipment operator, auctioneer, and Farm Family insurance agent. He also built furniture and cabinets as owner/operator of Rosier’s Wood Work Shop. Friends will be received at the Sycamore Grove Church 219 Bull Run Rd. Parsons on Wednesday May 7, from 5-8 pm and on Thursday from 9- 11 am the service hour with Rev. Pat Cassidy officiating. Interment will follow in the Harsh Family Cemetery on Clover Run in Tucker Co. with military honours being accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harsh Family Cemetery c/o Robert Rosier 4193 Clover Run Rd. Montrose, WV 26283.
