Obituary of Doris Ball
Mrs. Doris Wilson Ball, 79, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014.
A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday at 11 AM in the Shiloh Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Moatsville, WV.
Doris, a native of Valley Furnace, West Virginia, made her home in Greenville in 1964. She received an Associate Degree in Human Services from Pitt Community College and was employed at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Medical Records and Personnel for 15 years, retiring in 1991.
Doris had a passion for music, cooking, and had a strong love and devotion to her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Gladys Bolyard Wilson; brothers, Ellis, Hayward and Dale Wilson; and sisters, Evelyn Auvil, Agnes Minoski and Louise Rakestraw.
She is survived by:
her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Will R. Ball;
son, Micah “Mike” Ball and wife, Sheila, of Greenville;
daughters, Susan Ball of Grimesland and
Donna Wilkinson and husband, Kyle, of Granite Falls, NC;
grandchildren, Tyler Carraway, Alex W. Ball, Garrett Ball, Alexander P. Ball, Helen
Grace Ball, Mary Claire Ball and Ellis Wilkinson;
great grandson, Noah G. Ball;
brothers, Hugh Wilson, of Cleveland, OH and Denver Wilson, of Buckhannon, WV; and
sisters, Lenora Wilson, of Greenville and June Flach, of Las Vegas, NV.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 PM at Wilkerson Funeral Home, Greenville and at Wright Funeral Home, Philippi, WV on Monday from 7 to 9 PM.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation for the special care given by her personal caregiver, Patricia Cooper, and also to the wonderful staff at the Service League of Greenville Inpatient Hospice
