Denzil Murl Lantz, age 83, a resident of Talbott’s Personal Care Home in Belington a former resident of Philippi passed away Saturday November 1, 2014. He was born August 19, 1931 in Barbour County a son of the late Draper H. and Reta (Glendenning) Lantz. He was united in marriage to Maryland Jo (Vandever) Lantz who preceded him in death on December 18, 1988. Surviving are One granddaughter; Nichole Bruckner of Florida Brothers-in-laws, sister-in-laws, and several nieces and nephews Denzil was the last surviving member of his immediate family; he was also preceded in death by on daughter Thelma June Lantz. Denzil worked as a plumber for Scott’s Plumbing and Heating. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Sunday November 2, from 2-8 pm and on Monday November 3, from 8- 11:30 am the service hour with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in the WV National Cemetery with full military rites being accorded.
