Sally Lynn (McCoy) Proffitt age 62 a resident of Chestnut St. Philippi passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2013 in United Hospital Center. She was born July 23, 1951 in Barbour County, WV a daughter of the late John Scott and Betty C. (Bennett) McCoy. She was united in marriage to Ronald Proffitt who preceded her in death. Surviving is, One son, Cameron Van Proffitt of Morgantown One sister, Nancy Scott Dougherty of Philippi One brother, Philip H. Wagner of Gainesville, FL Two nieces, Rachel Reed of Philippi and Riley Wagner of Gainesville, FL Three nephews, Patrick Scott Doughtery of Philippi, Reed Wagner and Ryan Wagner of Gainesville, FL Ms. Proffitt was preceded in death by one brother, Jeffrey McCoy She was a mother, homemaker, seamstress, baker and herbalist. Ms. Proffitt’s request for cremation was honored. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Frances Jean McCoy officiating.
