I don't think I am any different than any one else who was able to make the aquantance oe establish teh friendship of Mickey. He was always quite the gentleman (and I mean old school)opening up the doors for me, carrying anything he could for me including kids, hold my hand to help me cross rocks while I was pregnant, and most importantly to me made my girls feel special by always taking time out to play with them and light up their faces with smiles and laughter. I know he enjoyed it as much as they and I did. It was a hard loss when him and my sister split because he seemed to leave the family even after I told him he could still come around. He did however always greet us if he saw us out and he never slighted us any little bit. I do feel privelaged that his family shared him with us and that for some reason he was brought into our lives. The most devistating thing about it all is that I have always wondered what brought him here from chicago and now he left our lives as mysteriously as he showed up in them. I lay many nights wishing I could bring you back mickey and as if I had failed you for some reason. All I pray now is strength for myslef all others out there. I love you and miss all your joy and comfort and hard work. many miss you and respected you.

My memories of Richard trace back to high school, but my fondest memories are during my freshman year of college at U of I. Richard nearly lived in our dorm room. It was an experience that I will remember always. We were so silly back then, so carefree. But, we always knew, deep down that we had to strive to become the best. Richard was one of those guys that would treat a lady with respect, and he was a true gentleman to my sister. Richard was a very kind-hearted and thoughtful person.
Ahh my fondest memory -- I remember for our 19th birthdays, he took my twin sister and me to Land of Mexico on Green Street in Champaign. I don't know how he convinced the bartender to serve us underage...but he was quite witty when it came to getting what he wanted lol. We had a crazy time and I felt like I was 21! I just knew during that time that we would be friends forever. This goes out to a great friend who left a lasting impression on my life. May you peacefully rest, Richard. We will certainly miss your captivating smile.

I met mickey in champaign illinois where we dated for a brief period of time....when he left we lost touch and he found me back in june 2010 on facebook...i am glad he contacted me. We stayed friends after dating and I always thought of him as a stand up guy. I don't know if he had a mean bone in his body...I would sincerely like to offer my condolences to his family...he left a lasting impression on all who knew him....deepest sympathy to the family and especially his children...may he rest in eternal

Mickey, I am still speechless. I remember high school like it was yesterday. There were few people who rivaled my jovial, silly personality. You definitely did. I appreciated you then, and I appreciate you now. I'm glad we reconnected. I'm glad we talked. There are many who miss you...and that will never change. You will never be forgotten. I love you bro. Richard,
I can recall sitting behind you in high school for many classes, for many years, due to the fact that our seats were arranged in alphabetical order - 'Beckwith' always came before 'Brownlee' and I thought you were such a 'goof ball', lol, the class clown, but intelligent. Fast forward to college, freshman year, I'd never thought our paths would intersect...
I remember when you had the Delta 88 and I refused to be seen in it and the next day, you came to campus with a brand new red Trans Am, then a Porsche, and you loved it!! We had some great times during those years, nearly 12 years ago, incredibly fun times, and we all just wanted to make it - become a success, to show our families, our parents, we will be something in life and leave a lasting legacy - like they did (after all, you had Alysha to compete with).
Now, fast forward to 2011, we lost contact over many years and I had the chance to speak with you directly, the entire week and day before you made your transition and I am so thankful that I was presented with the opportunity, one more time.
In life, there's some who leave an impression and some who leave a lasting impression and you certainly left a lasting impression upon my life and many others! May your joy of life, fast cars, and planes, live through your children and we will NEVER ever forget you and the joy you brought to us all.

not very many of you know me, and i dont know many of you, but your Mickey's family and friends and mickey was my family and friend. Mickey was a great guy, he was just the epitome of amazing, he was everything you'd expect in a friend and much more. Mickey and i had so many episodes, he taught me how to fix and rebuild a bike, he taught me everything he learned from his flight school, helped supply me with things i needed as well as wanted, guitar tuners, picks, bike parts, etc. He was a legend to me, one of my greatest influences. He was an Amazing father, a Wonderful friend and a Fantastic person all around. I miss him and will always, Mickey wasnt a friend that comes and leaves, he was a memory, the type of person that you never forget. I love Mickey with all my heart. And it kills me to write this, because he was so young, he still had wild dreams, a wild imagination, a beautifal personality. But that's why the Lord couldn't wait to take him, and realizing now, Heaven wouldn't be such a reward without Mickey's company. Let's celebrate his life, his dreams, personallity, our friendship with him, our fond memories with him. Let us simply not mention him and forget him because it hurts to, lets make it a wonderful, joyous feeling to bring him up, lets laugh not cry. He's With God, hes better off, let us anticipate the day we are taken, and meet him yet again.
