Mr. and Mrs. Skidmore, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I loved Robert as I would a brother. Though it has been many years, and Robert's and my paths branched in opposing directions, I cannot help but join you in your sorrow. I wish I could have done more back then to assist him in his struggles. I must admit that my heart is heavy with each passing of those that graced my life, Robert included.
