Obituary of Savannah Nestor
Savannah Mae Nestor of Moatsville departed this life on June 28, 2011 at the age of 78. She was born on May 21, 1933 in Clemtown, daughter of the late Don Carl and Oda Dell (Poe) McVicker. She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Hubert B. Nestor whom she married June 10 1950.
She is also survived by three sons and three daughters; Roger Nestor and wife, Reta Jean of Belington; Nancy Righman and husband, Jerry, of Nestorville; Dewayne Nestor and wife, Teresa, of Nestorville; Gregory Nestor and wife, Carolyn, of Moatsville; Alicia Duckworth and husband, Jesse (JR) of Moatsville; and Kelli Harris and husband, Mark, of Moatsville. One daughter, Cathy Louise, preceded her in death.
She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jared and Kim Nestor and sons, Marshall and Cade of Belington; Jennifer and Jesse McConnell and children, Jordan and Lucas, of Bear, Delaware; Nicholas Righman of Nestorville; Stephanie and Rob Deem and step-children, Ryder and McKenzie of Harrisville; Jeremy and Kristin Nestor and daughter, Harper, of London, Ohio; Micah Nestor and fiancée, Maggie Smith, of Morgantown; Michelle Duckworth of Durham, North Carolina; Whitney Nestor of Morgantown; Adam Duckworth of Moatsville; Kyle Duckworth of Moatsville; Seth Harris of Moatsville and Grant Harris of Moatsville.
She is also survived by a brother, James (Sut) McVicker of Clemtown, and a sister, Shirley Jacobs, and husband, William, of Camp Run.
Mae was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family and always enjoyed her large family 'coming home'. She was bookkeeper for Hubert for his timbering and sawmill operation, as well as their farming operation throughout their marriage. She was a former 4-H Leader and a former member of Phelps CEOs, who loved to garden, quilt, crochet and sew. Mae cherished her flower gardens and appreciated the many compliments she received for her hard work. She was a protestant by faith.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday June 30, from 3-8 pm and on Friday July 1, from 8 am- 1pm the service hour with Rev. Jimmie Tallman officiating. Interment will follow in the Clemtown Cemetery.
