Mary V. Mattaliano, age 92, a resident of Locust Ave. Philippi passed away Monday February 27, 2012 at her residence. She was born June 14, 1919 in Douglas, WV a daughter of the late Pietro and Vincenza (Calderone) Panepinto. She was united in marriage June 27, 1936 to Pete D. Mattaliano who preceded her in death on October 19, 1993. Surviving is: One daughter: Virginia McNally and husband Robert of Alexandria, VA One son: Peter Mattaliano and wife Charlene of The Village, FL One sister: Carmella Katalinch, of Mooresville, NC Two grandsons: Peter F. Mattaliano Jr., Mark B. Mattaliano Two great grandchildren: Joseph and Sadie Mattaliano Close friend and beloved caregiver: Debbie Mitchell of Philippi Mary was preceded in death by one son: Joe Mattaliano, one sister: Elizabeth Sacco, Three brothers: James Panepinto, Charles Panepinto, Joseph Panepinto Mary was a homemaker and a longtime member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday March 1, from 5-8 pm. A rosary service will be held at 7:30 pm. Visitation will resume on Friday March 2, from 8 -10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Catholic Church 19 College Hill, Philippi WV 26416.
