Waunda McGee, age 93, a resident of Community Skills Nursing Home and a former resident of Washington Ave. Girard, OH, passed away Wednesday March 7, 2012 in the St. Joseph Hospital in Warren, OH. She was born September 18, 1918 in Arden, WV a daughter of the late Charles S. and Ida (Robinson) Mitchell. She was united in marriage in January 1948 to Forrest S. McGee who preceded her in death on September 7, 1986. Surviving is: One daughter: Juanita M. Comparato of Warren, OH Two brothers: Dr. Willard D. Mitchell of Columbus, OH Robert (Jake) Mitchell of Philippi Granddaughter: Siri Groeber of Upper Arlington, OH Mrs. McGee was preceded in death by one sister Gay Mitchell, two brothers: Wilburt and Wilford Mitchell. Mrs. McGee was a homemaker and a member of the Highway Tabernacle Church. She was a graduate of Philippi High School class of 1938. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Monday March 12, from 10-11 am the service hour with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
