Obituary of Danny Bryant
Danny Paul Bryant, 61, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather went home to be with the Lord, Saturday morning, November 24, 2012 at his residence in Philippi. Dan was born June 25, 1951 in Galax, Virginia, a son of Iola Bryant of Malvern, Ohio and the late Kelly W. Bryant. On November 7, 1981 he married his wife of 31 years, the former Judy Phillips of Philippi, WV who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Stephen Scott Cross and wife Cindy of Philippi; Danny Paul Bryant II and companion Kimberly Longerbeam and her children, Tyler, Haley, and Karli, of Clarksburg, WV; a granddaughter, Meggan Erickson of Philippi; two grandsons, Logan Bryant of Philippi and Michael Bryant of Clarksburg; one great grandson, Maddox Erickson of Philippi; three sisters, Barbara Bullock, of Canton, Ohio, Betsy (Jim) Cinson, of East Canton, Ohio, Brenda (Dale) Baker, of Fayetteville, NC; two brothers, C. David (Mira) Bryant of Monroeville, PA, and Rick (Deronda) Bryant of Massillon, Ohio; two brother-in-laws, Jeff (Joy) Phillips and Jerry (Carolyn) Phillips, both of Philippi; precious dog, Willard; and many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death was one brother, Kelly D. Bryant.
He attended schools on Ohio. He received his nursing degree from Davis and Elkins College; Management Information Systems and Business Administration degrees from Alderson-Broaddus College; Masters in Business Administration and Health Care Management from the University of Phoenix.
Mr. Bryant honorably served his country with the United States Marine Corps and served two tours of duty in Vietnam.
He was employed by the United Hospital Center as a registered nurse in the Critical Care unit until his illness last year.
He was a member of the Corley United Methodist Church, he will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi, WV on Monday November 26, from 5-8 pm and on Tuesday November 27, from 8 am – 1:30 pm the service hour with Rev. Dr. Dennis Stull, Rev. Dr. Daniel Unger, and Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Military honours will be conducted following the service. In honor of Mr. Bryant’s request cremation will follow the services.
