Bessie Rebecca “Robin” Croston age 59 a resident of Philippi passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the home of her caregiver, Alta Croston. She was born July 9, 1954 in Barbour Co. a daughter of the late Harter H. and Francis J. (Miner) Croston. Surviving is, One son, Herbert D. Croston and wife Ann of Philippi Two brothers, Harter Croston and wife Edna of Philipppi Wendell S. Croston and wife Sabrina of Flemington One sister, Susanne Sikorski and fiancé Jeff Tacy of Philippi Two granddaughters, Kierra and Samarra Croston One grandson, DeWayne Croston Six nieces, three nephews and several great nieces and nephews Prior to residing with her caregiver, Bessie made her home with Wendell Croston and wife Sabrina for several years. Bessie was preceded in death by her companion, Donald Newman She was a homebody and homemaker; she loved to listen to gospel music, watch preachers on television and read her bible. She loved her family and was loved by all. She was an Apostolic by faith. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday. January 30 from 4-8 pm and on Friday, January 31 from 8 am-3 pm the service time with Rev. Troy McCartney and Rev. Menelus Mayle officiating. Interment will follow in the Welch Cemetery.
