Obituary of Pernell "Pete" Cleavenger

Pernell “Pete” Cleavenger, 74, a resident of Talbott’s Personal Care Home, passed away Wednesday June 19, 2019 in United Hospital Center.  Pete was born at Camp Run Hollow in Barbour County a son of the late Pinnell A. and Loma Elizabeth (Prince) Cleavenger. Pete is survived by sister, Jean Wagner and husband Jim of Galloway

Several nieces and nephews

Pete was preceded in death by sister, Ruthie Harris, brother James “Butch” Cleavenger, nephew Andy Kurucz Jr. niece Donna Luff, great niece Megan Luff.

Pete worked for the City of Clarksburg street department.  He was an avid New York Yankee fan and enjoyed watching sports, westerns and was an antique collector.  Pete attended the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Friday June 21, from 5-8 pm and Saturday June 22, from 8-11am the service hour with Pastor Paul Bryd officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
