Eleanor Bennett, age 98, a resident of Philippi, passed away Thursday November 19, 2020 at Talbott’s Personal Care Home. Eleanor was born February 22, 1922 in Barbour County, a daughter of the late Emery and Minnie (Parks) Phillips. Eleanor was untied in marriage on July 3, 1943 to Mason “Ace” Bennett who preceded her in death in 1997. Surviving is Sister, Mary Lawson of Austin, TX Children, Danny Bennett and wife Bonnie of Philippi Phyllis Deffet and late husband Rick of Philippi Terry Cutlip and husband Jim of Meadowbrook Grandchildren, Jeff Griffith and wife Kim of Wheeling, Pam Bennett Kerr and husband William “Buck” of Carrolton, TX, and Todd Deffet and wife Sara of Philippi Six great grandchildren Seven Great Great grandchildren She was also preceded in death by her four brothers, one sister and her son-in-law. Eleanor retired from Broaddus Hospital and worked in housekeeping. She was a member of the Tacy Crossroads Church. A private graveside service will be held at the Marsh Memorial Cemetery at Tacy. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Crossroads United Methodist Church.
