My name is Ron Yelverton, I attended AB from 1987 to 1990. I would like to send my Prayers and Condolences to the family, praying for Strength and Understanding. When I first met Carol it was Great from the start. I am from Washington DC. Carol and Steve opened their home and hearts to me,she has done that for everyone. Carol made you feel like you were family. She always made sure that you had something to eat, the spaghetti was Amazing. Carol was one of the people who helped me to stay at AB because I was going to leave. When I left AB I kept in contact with Carol and Steve. I will Always Remember your kind spirit and caring Heart and I know that God has welcomed you with open arms his Great and Faithful Servant. Continue to Rest in Peace Carol. I am Truly Blessed to have crossed your path Carol

Carol will always hold a special place in my heart. She was a unique woman, a rare breed, in which the world would be a better place if there were more people like her. Growing up, Carol was like a second mother to me. She taught me many things throughout my life: how to swim, algebra, how to French braid, CPR, how to get “bumped” on flights, how to be brave and courageous, how to manage concussions, and most importantly, she taught me friends are family that you choose along the way. As I said, she was like a second mother. She would do anything and everything to help anyone in need, including me, even if that meant needing disciplined. She loved God, her family, friends and the community. I know that she is rejoicing in glory in Heaven, however, her departure here on earth will surely leave a void. Steve, Bronlyn, Stephanie, and to the rest of your family, I send my deepest most sincere condolences.

My prayers for peace, strength, and comfort for the family. I remember the day she came in to tell me she was retiring. I told her she couldn’t go without me. It was a pleasure and an honor to have worked with Carol and to have been friends. You look beautiful in those wings Carol!

My heart goes out to Steve, his daughters and all the Smithson family. In my first real job, I worked with Carol at the Leader Department Store. We had so much fun!
Later Carol was my dental hygiene patient and I enjoyed watching her family grow and comparing our lives. I will miss her smile.

Sending love and saying prayers to you all. I remember Carol fondly as a classmate. She reminded me a few years ago I was her big sister in the GAA at Belington Jr. High. It brought back good memories. I appreciated her work with swim team and at ABU. She will be missed. Twila Smith
