I will always remember John presenting Barbour Co. Fair coffee cups every year to every act that played at the fair. That was always a special moment and I have my 20+ year collection of coffee cups. God Bless a great man.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of John. I very much enjoyed the opportunity to work with John via the fair for many years. He was also such a pleasant and professional man. Such a gentleman.....always. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends and the fair board. You have lost a great man.

John's parents opened their home to me and other 4-H friends about 1951. We were at Holly Gray Camp and a flood came. We went to his home to wait for my father to come and get me and other Burnsville children. God bless you all of your family Rachel as you walk in this valley that has led him to the Eastern Gate. There will be joy in the morning. Sharon Hardman West

I always enjoyed the visits as I would go to my mother’s “Sutton High School reunions.” We were connected to John’s family in more ways then one. I’ve enjoyed having visits with my cousin “Nellie” and hearing mom’s stories about all of them growing up together. Such sweet people to help share life with. Then, I had the pleasure of working with “Bridgeport Auto” when I was in “banking” and sharing stories with his son. I’m sorry I will not be able to attend the service as my new grandson, “Niles Braxton” will be here tomorrow, but my love & prayers are with the whole family. May God bless you as you heal from his loss. Love Always, Jayne Wood-Harris, Allen, Maddison, & Killian

I have always remembered John Loyd as a kind and wonderful man. We always were excited when he came to our Tacy Stickers 4-H Club meetings (we are talking about YEARS ago now). He generally wiggled his ears for us, and challenged us to no-blinking staring contests. He was not too thrilled when I often beat him, so we'd have to do the best out of three! My sympathy extends to the entire extended family for the loss of this great man.
