Obituary of Georgia Virginia Godwin

Georgia V. Wilson Godwin, age 81, a resident of Kasson, passed away Friday February 5, 2021 in Davis Medical Center. Georgia was born May 18, 1939 in Kasson, WV a daughter of the late Rev. Henry and Lula (Moats) Wilson. Georgia was united in marriage on February 21, 1970 to Elmer Guy Godwin who preceded her in death on September 5, 2018. Surviving is Brother, Thomas Wilson of Cincinnati, OH Brother-in-law, Harold Godwin and wife Jean of Charleston, WV Sister-in-law, Willodine Godwin of Shiloh Rd. Kasson Nephews, Chuck Wilson of Cincinnati, OH Jimmie Wilson of Cincinnati, OH Don Godwin and wife Michelle of Tampa, FL Mike Godwin and wife Cheryl of Charleston, WV Derek Godwin and wife Lisa of Charleston, WV Niece, Barbara Godwin of Moatsville Several great nephews. Georgia was preceded in death by sister, Molly West, and brother-in-law, Ralph Godwin. Georgia was a homemaker, she enjoyed gardening and helping her husband Elmer on the farm. She was a member of the Joy Brunch at Shiloh and the Shiloh Church of the Brethren. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday February 10, from 11am – 1 pm. Funeral service will be conducted at 1 pm with Speaker Brad Dumire officiating. Interment will in the New Hope Valley Cemetery. Due to the current circumstances if you’re not able to attend or not wanted to leave your home the family completely understands. Due to the Governor’s Mandate face masks and social distancing will be required for everyone attending the services.
