John Calvin Weaver, age 75, resident of Moatsville, passed away Friday February 5, 2021 at his residence. John was born March 30, 1945 in Philippi, a son of the late Alva and Mildred (Moats) Weaver. John was united in marriage on October 22, 1978 to Judy (Harkleroad) Weaver who survives at home. Also surviving is Son, Craig Weaver and wife Sally of Morgantown Daughters, Jennifer Day and husband Austin ofCanonsburg, PA Janelle Hill and husband James of Morgantown Grandchildren, Alyssa, Ashleigh, Amanda, Aubriana, and Samuel John was preceded in death by brothers PK Weaver Ward Weaver, and sister Fern (Weaver) Mellie. John retired as a meat manager having worked for A & P Food and Philippi IGA. He served in the National Guard, and was a member of Crossroads United Methodist Church. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday February 9, from 10am- 1 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm with Pastor Dina Andrews officiating. Interment will follow in the Tacy Crossroads Cemetery. Due to the Governor’s Mandate face masks and social distancing will be required for everyone attending the services.
