Nelda F. Johnston, 93, born April 2, 1927 passed away peacefully and quietly on February 18th, 2021 at the Wyngate Senior Living Community in Weirton, WV. Nelda was born in Wheeler, WV located in Webster County. She is the daughter of the late Rev. Lantz Anderson and Opal (Kelly) Anderson. Nelda is also proceeded in death by her husband of 55 years Harry T. Johnston in 2013 and a younger brother who died at birth Gordan Emerson Anderson in 1931. Raised as an only child, Nelda developed a creative mind that lead her to the teaching profession. Nelda was an elementary teacher for 37 years in the states of Ohio, West Virginia, and Maryland. She received her BA degree in Education from Fairmont College in 1954 and her Master’s degree from West Virginia University in 1959. Nelda brought happiness and love to her extended family and friends and will be missed by all.
