Obituary of James Fridley
James Randolph Fridley, age 80, a resident of Rt. 1 Volga passed away Wednesday September 9, 2009 in United Hospital Center. He was born April 29, 1929 at Mt. Hebron a son of the late Clayton and Flora (Anderson) Fridley. He was united in marriage July 8, 1973 to Harriet (Wilson) Fridley who survives. Also surviving is
two step-daughters; Sally Ann and husband Gary Samples of Rock Cave, WV
Belinda Swiger of Philippi
one step-son; Mark and wife Darlene K. Swiger of Buckhannon
one sister; Wilda Lanham of Rt. 1 Flemington
three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren
Mr. Fridley was preceded in death by one brother; George Fridley, one infant sister, and brother-in-law Carl Lanham.
Mr. Fridley worked as a shot man for Grafton Coal Company, and was owner and operator of Jim's Antiques in Century. He was a member of the UMWA District #31 and Joseph Chapel Church.
Mr. Fridley loved hunting and fishing and most of all collecting antiques.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Friday September 11, from 3-8:00 p.m. on Saturday September 12 from 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. and on Sunday September 13, from 8:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m. the service hour with Rev. Randy Swiger officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
