Margaret Peggy Daugherty age 89 a resident of Daugherty Farms Rd. Philippi passed away on Friday, July 9th, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born April 6, 1932 in Hampton, VA, a daughter of the late Bernard Lee and Stella Elizabeth (Palmer) Johnson. She was united in marriage on April 14, 1950 to Harold H. Daugherty who preceded her in death March 21, 1992. Surviving her are three sons, Wayne Lee Daugherty and wife Susan of Mt. Liberty Dennis Edward Daugherty and wife Marlene of Union David William Daugherty and wife Roconda also of Union One sister, Ellen Barrick of Orange City, FL Seven grandchildren, 15 Great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by her cousin, Carolyn Delauder Peggy was a homemaker; she was an avid reader, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, tending to her flowers, gardening and holiday gatherings, her favorite being Christmas. She was the heart of the family. Peggy was a member of Corley Methodist Church, a Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Ladies Aide Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St Philippi on Sunday, July 11th from 6-8pm, on Monday July 12, from 10am-8pm and on Tuesday July 13, from 8am-1pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm with Rev. Oz Grey and Rev. Destry Daniels officiating. Interment will follow in the Pitman Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to Mountain Hospice 1002 South Crim Ave Belington, WV 26250.
