Charles Edauard “Butch” Shingleton, age 78, a resident of Philippi, passed away Monday August 16, 2021 in the United Hospital Center. Butch was born December 9, 1942 in Monongalia County a son of the late Geneva Isabel Shingleton. Butch resided for the last 20 years with his caregiver Tina Jones, he had a special place in his heart for Tina, her children and great grandchildren. Butch never met a stranger, he loved country music and watching old vhs tapes. Butch never hesitated going to be seen by Dr. Palko, he loved laughing and joking with the nurses. After his appointment Butch enjoyed going to McDonalds, his favorite was a double cheeseburger and fries. Butch was loved by all that knew him, he will be sadly missed by all he’s leaving behind. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Friday August 20, from 6-8 pm. In honor of Butch’s request cremation will follow.
