Veta Louise Howdyshell, age 84, a resident of Grafton, passed away Sunday October 24, 2021 in the WV Caring Hospice Facility in Elkins, WV. Mrs. Howdyshell was born February 9, 1937 in Taylor County, a daughter of the late William E. Mitchell and Nela Pearl (Hathaway) Mitchell. Mrs. Howdyshell was united in marriage on April 17, 1960 to Robert Lee Howdyshell who survives. Also surviving- Daughter, Belinda Susan Keene and husband Ronald K. Keene of Grafton Sons, Dannie Lee Howdyshell and wife Melissa of Rock Cave Gregory Lee Howdyshell and companion Ruth Bennington of Grafton Sister, Etha Lucille Adams and husband Ray of St. George Grandchildren, Bethann Rebecca Howdyshell and Jodi Lee Keene Great-grandchildren, Asher Lee Lambert Brother-in-Law, Donald Roy Howdyshell of Grafton She was preceded in death by two brothers, Willard Mitchell and Elwood Junior “Jack” Mitchell Mrs. Howdyshell was a homemaker, she enjoyed making graham cracker pies, pumpkin pies, homemade bread, roast beef and gravy. She enjoyed going camping and traveling with the car club. She was a member of the Pleasant Creek United Methodist Church. Mrs. Howdyshell was a graduate of Grafton High School class of 1956. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday October 27, from 2-8pm and on Thursday October 28, from 8- 11 am. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am. With Chaplain Lynn Keener officiating. Interment will follow in the Clemtown Cemetery.
