Stephen Scott McCauley, age 50, resident of Springfield, OH passed from this life on Wednesday November 3, 2021 in Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, OH. He was born October 5, 1971 in Tampa Fl. and grew up in Philippi, WV. He was the son of the late Edward William McCauley and Shirley (Gouer) McCauley. He had one brother the late Robert Edward McCauley. Scott graduated from Philip Barbour High School in the class of 1989 and then joined the Navy that fall. He served in Norfolk, VA and Groton, CT. for ten years and also served in Desert Storm. He is survived by his mother Shirley (Gouer) McCauley and his daughter Victoria Elizabeth and husband Nathaniel Will, one son Stephen Bryson and partner Elissa and a granddaughter Rinn Bryson. One nephew Jeremiah McCauley, three nieces Chelsey Hosey, Chanda Hosey, and Krystal Blanchard. He is also survived by one great niece and two great nephews. Scott loved his family and helping people he quietly gave a helping hand to anyone in need. He was an organ donor and has given three people new life and two people new sight at this time. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday December 4, from 2-4 pm. A memorial service will be held at 4 pm with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating.
