Mary Ella Stutler, age 99, a resident of Galloway and a former resident of Clarksburg, passed away Thursday December 23, 2021 in Mansfield Place of Broaddus Hospital. Mary was born June 2, 1922 in Dartmoor, WV a daughter of the late Vivian Isaac and Gladys Ann (Hillyard) Smallridge. Mary was united in marriage to Robert Samuel Stutler who preceded her in death August 7, 1952. Surviving is Sons, Robert Lee Stutler and wife Peggy of Tucson, AZ Johnny L. Stutler and wife Susan of Galloway Daughter, Patricia “Patty” Carder of Bridgeport Daughter-in-law, Sherry Stutler of Flemington Sister, Betty Jean Smallridge of Grafton Seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren Mary was also preceded in death by sons, James Vivian Stutler and Larry Stutler Sr., grandson Larry “Bucky” Paul Stutler, Jr. sisters Dortha Louise Shaw Patricia Ann DeMarco, and brother, Carl A. Smallridge Mary was a homemaker, she was a former Taylor County Homemaker of the Year, a member of the Astor United Methodist Church where she served in many offices, also a member of the Flemington CEOS for 55+ years, and she enjoyed sewing, quilting and embroidering. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday December 30, from 4-8 pm and on Friday December 31, from 8am- 12 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 pm with Pastor Lois Sandy officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
