Bob has been a friend for many years, He is a proud man, a humble man, a great cattleman and sincerely a great friend. My family - wife Susie and daughter Jamie and myself - are fortunate to have had Bob's friendship and company on many occasions, including spending many Christmas Eve's together.
To his family, Jenny, Little Susy, Sammy, Emma Mae, Jerry, Linda and Mike, may peace and comfort be with you.
We love you Bob.

I went to middle school with Bobby and spent many days on his family’s farm just wandering around with him. There was just a handful of people I hoped to run into since I’ve moved back home and he was definitely on that list. He may never know what his friendship meant to me during that time of our lives but I do. God bless you.

I came to know Bob Mallow during my time as a student at Potomac State College from 2006-2008. During that time, it’s safe to say that I spent more time on the farms (worked there one summer as well) with Bob than I did in classrooms and gleaned more useful, practical, real-world knowledge and skills from Bob than in any classroom or from any PhD professor. Bob was a larger than life figure in the minds of many students who were privileged to know and work with him at the college. I always appreciated Bob’s demeanor in that he told things like they were with no fluff or sugar; you could always count on Bob to tell it like it was whether you wanted to hear it or not - something the world needs more of. To me, he was a mentor and became a close friend, in a friendship lasting far beyond my time at Potomac State. I count Bob in the top 5 list of most influential people in my life. Memories with Bob certainly include Potomac State farm standard operations such as wrangling stubborn heifers, making hay, nursing kid goats, and showing college cattle at the tri-county and WV State fairs. But also weekend “caveman days” on the mountain in Pendleton county, eating skirt steak (and a freshly harvested groundhog one time) cooked on open fires; kayaking the Potomac river in Upper Tract; a three-day run together to Mississippi State University to pick up breeding bulls and a ram in Georgia; Bob’s interest in Louis L’amour books, and a genuine desire to always learn and grow within his profession. A true West Virginia cowboy! Go rest high on that mountain my ol’ friend! I’m thankful for the assurance that I’ll see you on the other side. Prayers to Genny, the children and all touched by his passing.

I met Bob as a student at Potomac State. The knowledge that he passed to all the students in the classes and on the farm was a blessing. I thank him for everything and I am glad to call him one of my mentors and a great friend. Prayers to Genny and the family. Have a good ride my friend!
