Obituary of James Edgar Freeman
James Edgar Freeman, age 83, a resident of Moatsville, passed away Sunday January 2, 2022 at his residence. James was born august 7, 1938 in Moatsville, WV a son of the late Darwin Cline and Hatti Viola (Moats) Freeman. James was united in marriage to his wife of 55 years Wilma Jean (Murphy) Freeman who preceded in death August 12, 2016. Surviving is-

James was preceded in death by special cousin, Charles Freeman. He worked as a coal miner for Badger Coal Company, and Laurel Run Coal Mines. James served in the US Army and was stationed in Ft. Hood, TX. He was a member of the UMWA, he enjoyed working on cars, and fixing things around the house. James was an avid farmer, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and woodworking he built several pieces of furniture as well as different items. He attended the Fairview Church, and also Moatsville Free Gospel Church.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday January 5, from 5-8 pm and on Thursday January 6, from 8 am- 1pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm with Rev. Jimmy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.
