Ernest G. Seech, age 93, a resident of Pt. Pleasant Rd. Belington, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday January 11, 2022 at his residence. Ernie was born April 6, 1928 in Brownton, WV a son of the late Gabor and Julia (Baranyi) Seech. Ernie was united in marriage to Philomene (Shockey) Seech who preceded him in death December 3, 1971. Surviving is- Children, Kelly Seech Jeffrey Seech and wife Connie Danny Seech and wife Vicki all of Belington Sisters, Gizella Snyder of PA Ethel Palazzini of MA Brother, Lewis “Louie” Seech and wife Lottie of Buckhannon Seven grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren Ernie was preceded in death by sisters, Sarah Ravis, and two infant twins, brothers, Joe Baranyi, and Paul Seech, grandson, Garrett Seech, and great-grandson Rowan Seech. Ernie retired from Badger Coal Company and had worked as a motorman. He served in the US Army during WWII. Ernie was a member of the American Legion Post #29, VFW Post #410 and UMWA Local #1512. He enjoyed watching sports, in his younger years he enjoyed camping, and loved playing scrabble. Ernie loved seating on his front porch with family and friends which was the gathering place to enjoy his spirits. He will be so badly missed by all. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday January 12, from 5-8 pm and on Thursday January 13, from 8- 11 am. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am with Speaker Joe Kiser officiating. Interment will follow in the Valley Bend Cemetery with military honors being accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Valley Bend Cemetery.
