Obituary of Janice Lee Waugaman
Janice Lee (Dean) Waugaman Ridenour Waugaman, age 84, a resident of Volga, passed away unexpectedly Sunday January 30, 2022. Janice was born August 10, 1937 in Philippi a daughter of the late Carrol Dean Sr. and Madelyn (Coffman) Dean. Janice was preceded in death by her parents and both her husband’s first to Wilbert Waugaman, second to Hobart Ridenour, and remarried Wilbert Waugaman,
Janice is survived by daughter, Barbara Satterfield and late husband Satch of Volga, stepdaughter Tammy Murphy and husband George of Flemington, son Michael Ridenour and wife Michelle of Lost Creek. Grandchildren and step grandchildren- Jesse Satterfield and companion Brooke Ritter of Volga, Mariah Titus and husband Josh of Lumberport, Sacha Carpenter and husband Ron of Ripley, Kellie Satterfield whom is deceased, Shane Satterfield and wife Michelle of Los Angeles, CA, Steven Ridenour of NC, Zachary Ridenour of NC, Briana McDonald and companion Josh Lawson of Clarksburg, Hunter McDonald of Clarksburg, Timothy Ridenour of Fairmont, Ashley Ridenour and companion Hector Estrada of Clarksburg, Amanda Murphy of Nutter Fort, Tonya Murphy of Flemington, and Joseph Wayne “Joey” Murphy Sr. of Clarksburg.
Great grandchildren and step grandchildren, Seth Titus, Vera Titus, Hadley Satterfield, Elias Satterfield Raina Satterfield, Christian Estrada, Carmen Taylor and husband Sam, Josh Bowes and companion Jenna Amtower, Zeke Carpenter, Jet Taylor, Brayden Thomas, Abigail Murphy, Isabella Thompson, Joseph Ray Murphy, Mason Thompson, Josephy Murphy Jr., Braxton Lawson, Easton Lawson, Jacob Upton and Ashton Mayle Ridenour
Janice was the oldest sibling, she is survived by four sisters, Ann Wolfe of Philippi, Carolyn Whitt of Dillsburg, PA, Winnie Burkhammer and husband Gary of Midlothian, VA, and Virginia “Ginny” Keller of Inwood, WV, she is also survived by two brothers, Carrol Dean Jr. and wife Sue of Lost Creek, and Clair Dean and wife Cathy of Buckhannon. Janice is also survived by her special cousin, Roger McDaniel and wife Linda of Crawfordville, FL
Janice worked for over 20 years at AB College in the food service department. She loved to bake cakes for her family and friends from her collection of over 100 novelty cake pans. She loved to work in her flower gardens. She loved cooking for her large family for holidays and picnics in the summer.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday February 2, from 6-8 pm and on Thursday February 3, from 8 am- 2 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm with Rev. Carrol Dean Sr. and Rev. Clair Dean officiating. In honor of Janice’s request cremation will follow the services.
