Edwin Williams, age 95, a resident of Mountain Memories Assisted Living in Elkins, WV went to be with the Lord on Thursday March 24, 2022. Edwin was born June 19, 1926 in Littleton, WV, a son of the late George Harman Williams Sr. and Laura (Carney) Williams. Edwin was united in marriage June 28, 1947 to Virgie (Kennedy) Williams who survives. Also surviving are children, Edina McMasters and husband Randy of Brentwood, TN, Gregory Williams and wife Debbie of Philippi, Danita Menear of Philippi Nine grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, and was the last surviving member of his immediate family having been also preceded in death by seven siblings. He worked for Dominion Gas Company where he retired as a gas measurement specialist. Edwin served in the US Navy during WWII. He attended the Webster United Methodist Church and also Silent Grove Church. Edwin was a member of the Barbour Country Club, he was an avid golfer, enjoyed gardening and loved the outdoors. Edwin especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He worshiped God, loved his family, served his country, and worked hard. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday March 29, from 10am- 12 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 pm with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery with military honors being accorded by the US Navy and Belington American Legion Post #96.
