Obituary of Blanche Eva Dalton
Blanche Evie Dalton, age 73, a resident of Philippi, passed away Tuesday May 3, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her family. Blanche was born June 11, 1948 in Grafton, a daughter of the late Horace Delbert and Lillian (Miner) Dalton. Blanche was united in marriage on January 21, 1966 to Jerry Veon Dalton who survives at home. Also surviving are children, Ronnie Dalton and wife Margaret, Linda Dalton, and Karen Sue Collins and Fiancé Ralph Cox all of Philippi, grandchildren, Amanda Robinson and husband Gene, Samantha Dalton, Joshua Dalton, Danelle Collins, great grandchildren, Faith, Emily, Braylon, Caden, Bentlee, Aria, Nevaeh, Ariana, Dominic “Little Man”, and Hope. Brothers, Clayton Dalton and wife Linda of Morgantown, Delbert Dalton and wife Barb of Morgantown, Edward Dalton of Canton, OH, sisters, Patricia Ann Dalton and late husband Fred of Philippi, Lona Grace McDaniel and late husband Ernie of Elkins, Pamela Rose Jackson and late husband Paul of Philippi, several nieces and nephews.
Blanche was preceded in death by her parents, son David “Dave” Dalton, son-in-law Freddie Collins, grandson Dustin Collins, and brother Jethro Miner. Blanche worked for 16 years as a seamstress for Reidboard Brothers, and two years as an In Home Care provider for WV Choice. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, she would always help her grandchildren with their prom dresses with any hemming or sewing that needed done. Blanche liked to shop for bargains, she enjoyed taking walks, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the nurses and aides from Mountain Hospice. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mountain Hospice.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Friday May 6 from 6-8 pm and on Saturday May 7, from 8- 11 am. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am with Rev. Ezik Norris officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodsdale Memorial Park Cemetery.
