Obituary of Douglas Hogan
Pastor Douglas Edward Hogan, age 52, a resident of Rt. 2 Belington passed away Sunday, December 6, 2009 in the Broaddus Hospital Emergency Room. He was born June 13, 1957 in Schenectady, New York a son of William D. Hogan and the late Shirley Ann (Vyshrad) Hogan. He was united in marriage June 30, 1978 to Janice Kathryn (Gouley) Hogan who survives. Also surviving is:
One daughter, Kathryn Marie Hogan
Two sons, Benjamin James Hogan
William Vernon Hogan, all of Belington
One sister, Barbara Ann Hogan, Bradenton, FL
Grandmother, Esther Hogan of Schenectady, NY
Doug served in the US Navy from 1975-80
Pastor Hogan was a full time servant of the most high living God, he served as a Missionary full time overseas in Malaysia, after returning he served as youth pastor in the Christian Missionary Alliance in Morgantown. Pastor Hogan most recent position was senior pastor for the Living Water Church at Philippi. He was active in the church planting of the Christian Missionary Alliance called operation WV. Doug was an avid outdoorsman which he enjoyed hunting, fishing and also woodworking.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday December 8, from 4-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday December 9, from 8:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m. the service hour with Rev. Ken Kelley officiating. Military honours will be accorded in the Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Hogan's request for cremation will be honored and will follow the services on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The Christian and Missionary Alliance for the Great Commission Fund PO Box 35000 Colorado Springs, CO 80935-3500.
