Virgil Henry Daugherty age 50 a resident of Rt. 1 Philippi passed away Wednesday May 20, 2009 at the home of his sister Cathy Shahan. He was born May 10, 1959 in Philippi a son of Eugene Daugherty and the late Betty H. (Harris) Daugherty. Surviving is; Two sisters; Beverly Longo of Wyoming Cathy and husband Robert Shahan of Philippi Three brothers; David and wife Melinda Farris of Oregon Tom and wife Nina Farris of Florida Michael and wife Cecila Daugherty of Clarksburg Mr. Daugherty was preceded in death by one son; John Daugherty. Mr. Daugherty was a construction worker and farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping, and loved the outdoors. Mr. Daugherty was a member of the Union Church of Christ. Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday May 21 from 5-8:00 p.m. and on Friday May 22, from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. the service hour with Evangelist R.D.
