William Edgar Lantz, age 64, a resident of Franklin passed away Tuesday December 15, 2009 in the Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA. He was born April 14, 1945 in Cassidy, WV a son of the late Howard Riley and Mary Olive (Knotts) Lantz. Surviving is; One daughter; Kimberly Lantz Three sons; William "Billy" Lantz Samuel "Sammy" Lantz all of California Ronald Lantz of WV Two sisters; Alma Marcho of Philippi Barbara Bragg of Belington Two brothers; Jimmy Lantz of Chantilly, VA John Lantz of Buckhannon Several nieces and nephews One grandchild Mr. Lantz was preceded in death by two half-brothers; Richard and Wilbur Lantz Mr. Lantz worked as an assembler for the Hanover Shoe Company. He enjoyed bowling and was an avid hunter. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Thursday December 17 from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday December 18 from 8 a.m. -12 p.m. the service hour with Rev. David Jessie officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery in Hinkleville.
