Life Legacy Ruby Marie Wagner, age 89, a resident of Mt. Liberty Community passed from this life May 4, 2015 at her home. She was born May 30 1925 in Mt. Liberty a daughter of the late Delbert and Cora (Booth) Wagner. Ruby is survived by sisters Delma Thompson of Belington, and Mrs. Ronnie (Doretta) Holbert of Bridgeport, sister-in-law Mary Lou Wagner of Mt. Liberty Community In addition she is survived by nieces and nephews Jeff and Jan Poynter of Paris IL., Hilah Jane and Sam O’Neal of Georgetown, IL., Debbie and David Ross of Mt. Liberty, Twila and Gary Smith of Mt. Liberty, Danny Wagner of Philippi, Frances Greco of Mt. Liberty, Lori Wagner of Mt. Liberty, Cecil and Kelly Holbert of Bridgeport Ruby doted on her many great and great-great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister Neva Poynter, brother Russell Wagner, nieces Rosemary Wagner, nephews Phillip and Jerry Del Wagner, brothers-in-law Robert Thompson and Eugene Poynter. Ruby was a 1943 graduate of Philippi High School and a graduate of Fairmont State College. She taught in one room schools in Barbour County, schools in Wood County, and finished her career of over 30 years at Belington Elementary School. Ruby enjoyed walking, the outdoors, and her family. She was proud to be a teacher and a West Virginian. She loved the Pittsburgh Pirates. Ruby was faithful member of the Barbour Church of Christ. She will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday May 6, from 5-8 pm and on Thursday May 7, from 8 am- 2 pm the service hour with Speaker Danny Wagner officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Liberty Cemetery.
