Joey Duckworth age 54 a resident of Rt. 3 Philippi, passed away unexpectedly Friday, June 5, 2009 in Broaddus Hospital. He was born May 3, 1955 in Grafton, a son of the late Betty Duckworth. Surviving are: Two Sons; Jason Duckworth of Belington Joel and wife Kayla Duckworth of Fairmont One grandson; Allen Parsons of Belington Companion of six years, Pamela Franyutti Mr. Duckworth was preceded in death by two uncles and aunts, Gus and Martha McVicker, and Cassell and Edna Duckworth, and by his grandparents, Samuel and Ida Duckworth He was a coal miner for Badger Coal, Philippi Development, and Spruce Fork. He was an avid artist in his youth, and enjoyed drawing and wood burning. He enjoyed working outdoors, playing online games, socializing with friends at the Medallion restaurant and spending time with his grandson. Mr. Duckworth was Pentecostal by faith. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi, WV on Monday, June 8, 2009 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. the service hour with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating.
