Herman Dale “Bud” Evix, age 71, a resident of Volga passed away Sunday February 21, 2016 at his residence. He was born on November 19, 1944 in Barbour Co. a son of the late Madelyn (Evix) Riley. Bud was united in marriage on May 18, 1974 to Joyetta (Shaffer) Evix who survives at home. Also surviving is God children; Josey Zelinsky and fiancé Chad Wiant and their son Alexander of Buckhannon Nicholas Riley and wife Fran and their son Kale of Belington Four brothers; Stoney Riley and wife Linda of Louisiana Jerry Riley Robert Riley and wife Janie both of Philippi Sherwood Evix and wife Nancy of Ohio Special friends Brian Lanham, Denise and Ron Hall all of Volga Caretaker; Lisa Haller of Belington, Theresa Moore of Belington, Missy Sothen of Buckhannon Several nieces and nephews Bud was preceded in death by Sister Deborah Riley, and brother Ricky Riley. He worked as a coal miner for LaRosa Fuel Co. and as a laborer for Jones Trucking. Bud enjoyed fishing and loved mowing grass. He was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday February 23, from 5-8 pm and on Wednesday February 24, from 8 am – 2 pm the service hour with Dr. Jim Steinspring officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery.
