Obituary of Charles Malcolm

Life Legacy Charles Ray Malcolm, age 85, resident of Buckhannon passed away Tuesday June 7, 2016 at his residence. He was born May 17, 1931 on Monongah, WV a son of the late Alnzo Lee and Madge (Wetzel) Malcolm. He was united in marriage on July 20, 1955 to Elizabeth A. (Phillips) Malcolm who survives at home. Also surviving Two daughters; Debbie Malcolm Kaopuiki Kay Ware and husband Mike One son; Charles I. Malcolm and wife Tammy all of Buckhannon Three sisters; Eva Layman of Florida Virginia Fox and husband Don of Akron, OH Jerry Gillis and husband Gerald of Volga Three brothers; Don Malcolm and wife Charlene of Buckhannon Ron Malcolm and wife Ilene of Volga Jim Malcolm and wife Polly of Newton Falls, OH Six grandchildren; Jai Kaopuiki, Reanna Kaopuiki, Mauri Kaopuiki-Burback, Chan Kaopuiki, Sarah Booth, Brogan Malcolm Two great grandchildren; Malcolm Kaopuiki, and Wyan Thill Charles was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters; Arley Lee Malcolm, Irvin Bud Malcolm, Mary Murphy and Betty Maditz. He retired from Corhart Refractories Co. in Buckhannon as a maintenance man, and also had worked at Tuckahoe Mines in Century Charles served in the US Army from 1952-54 during the Korean War. He served as vice- president of United Brick and Clay Workers; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and traveling. Charles also liked working on antique cars; he was a protestant by faith. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday June 8, from 4-8 pm and on Thursday June 9, from 8 – 11 am the service hour with Pastor Jerry Murrell and Rev. Fr. Joe McLaughlin officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery with Military honors being accorded.
