Obituary of Daniel Sell
Life Legacy
Daniel L. Sell Sr., age 75, resident of Hog Heaven Farms Rd. Philippi, passed away Tuesday August 9, 2016 at his residence. He was born March 21, 1941 in Barrickville, WV a son of the late Ellis H. and Margaret L. (Harvey) Sell. Daniel was married three times and is survived by his wife Eleanor L. (Thrasher) Sell

Five step children whom he helped to raise, Pamela Arrington, Jeffrey Gouer, General Proudfoot, Michael Proudfoot, and Laurel L. Dottellis
14 grandchildren, six great grandchildren one being very special to him that he had helped raise, Taylor Paige Radabaugh of Oak Hill, WV
One brother; Paul Sell of Barrickville, WV
One sister; Jean Sears of OH
Several nieces and nephews
Daniel was preceded in death by three sisters; infant sister, Shirley Harker, Leona Harvey.
He worked in the coal mines for 19 years and then was owner and operator of D&E Trucking with his wife for several years. He also worked construction in SC, NC, and VA until his heart attack in VA in 1997, after which he and his wife bought a farm and he enjoyed his animals and dogs.
Daniel served in the US Army during the Vietnam conflict from 1959-1962. He was an avid coon hunter for many years, having had two WV Champion show dogs. Daniel had many friends throughout WV and OH.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday August 13, from 12-4 pm funeral services will be conducted at 4 pm with Rev. David Brown officiating. Military honors will be accorded following the service. In honor of Daniel’s request cremation will follow the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 122 S. High St. Morgantown, WV 26501.
