James “Skip” E. Morris, age 73, a resident of Nestorville Rd. Philippi, WV passed away Wednesday September 21, 2016 in Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born August 6, 1943 in Newburg, WV a son of the late Frank and Margaret L. (DeMoss) Morris. Surviving is: Former wife Karen S. Morris of Geneva, OH. Also surviving are four children, Kevin Morris and wife Chris of Geneva, OH Vickie Morris of Middlesex, PA Brian Morris and wife Julia of Philippi, WV Chrissy Jeppe and husband Larry of Geneva, OH One sister; Joyce Jennings, husband Jessie of Fellowsville One brother; Don Morris, wife Connie of Newburg Nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren Several nieces and nephews Mr. Morris was preceded in death by one brother Dale Morris. He retired from Ohio Rubber in Willoughby, OH, and was owner and operator of JD Country Store. He was a member of the Bigelow Lodge #52 AF & AM, and attended the Newburg United Methodist Church. His lifetime interest were hunting, fishing and gardening. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Monday September 26, from 4-8 pm. He will be moved on Tuesday September 27 to Newburg United Methodist Church, 12 Water St. Newburg, WV to lie in state from 10 am- 2pm. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm with Pastor Downing Gregory officiating. Interment will follow in the Damons Cemetery with Bigelow Lodge #52 conducting graveside rites.
