Margaret Alicia "Peggy" Shaw, age 90, a resident of Hickory Corner Rd. Philippi passed away Tuesday April 13, 2010 peacefully on her ninetieth birthday at her home. She was born April 13, 1920 in Wheeling, WV a daughter of the late W. Ralston and Genevieve (Murphy) Shaw. Surviving is; One sister: Elizabeth "Betty" Shaw of Hickory Corner Rd. Philippi Margaret worked for 50+ years as a medical secretary for the Myers Clinic. After graduating from Alderson Broaddus College in 1942 she worked at Wright Field in Dayton OH. during WWII. She was a member of the St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Philippi Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday April 14, from 7-8 p.m. a vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday April 15, from 8-9:30 a.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Fr. Jim O'Connor as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
