Obituary of Lois Shroyer
Lois “Jean” Shroyer, 81, of Shinnston went home to the Lord on Tuesday April 11, 2017 surrounded by love and family. She was reunited with her husband, Richard “Butch’ Shroyer, whom she loved dearly, and patiently waited to join in heaven for over 38 years.
In addition to her beloved husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Olive (Dadisman) Andrick, and her older brother, Victor Andrick. Jean is survived by her two sisters: Patricia Ashcraft and Louise Jones, as well as her 3 children: Francie Robinson (Rick), Crystal Sutphin (Earnie) and Richard Shroyer II (Christine). Her children blessed her with 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren who all brought her immeasurable happiness and pride. She will be greatly missed by many, including her lifelong best friend, Jean Harbert.
Jean was a strong, formidable woman; tough yet sweet. She was the type to wear evening gowns for a night of dancing with her husband, but would go barefoot at the first chance she got. She could light up any room with laughter, and left everyone she encountered with a story to tell. Jean also adored cooking, and especially loved to share meals and recipes with family, friends, and neighbors.
She fought hard for the people she loved, and for the things that she believed in. Time after time, throughout her entire life, Jean put the well-being of others before herself. Even amidst the many trials and tribulations she endured, she was always concerned with how it was affecting her loved ones. Lois Jean had a big heart and a beautiful soul. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished.
Her request for cremation will be honored.
