Obituary of John Frey
John Thomas “Tom” Frey, age 77, a resident of Moatsville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday June 19, 2017 at his residence. Tom was born July 7, 1939 in Moatsville, WV a son of the late Floyd Thamer and Mildred (Uphold) Frey. Tom was united in marriage on July 18, 1958 to Noretta A. (Pitzer) Frey who survives at home. Eight great grandchildren, Alexis Danielle Finley, Hailey Madison Finley both of Belington, Zoey T. Frey of Moatsville, Ava Janelle Bristol, Anthony Michael Bristol both of Fairmont, Lydia Renee Phillips, Dylan Keith Phillips, and Miles Bedford Wilfong of Greenford, OH
Tom was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Darl Eugene “Bevo” Frey, Daniel Harold “Enoch” Frey, Charles Leon “Boomer” Frey, Lelah Margaret “Babe” (Frey) Marsh, James William “Brandy” Frey, Ralph Marshall “Chick” Frey, Edythe Lucille (Frey) Marsh, Robert Lewis “Grapy” Frey, Ella Christine “Tuke” (Frey) Morris, Floyd Thamer Jr. “Buss” Frey, Lewis Doyle Semmelman, and Donald Neal Semmelman.
Tom retired as a union carpenter from United Brotherhood of Carpenters local #604 in Morgantown, WV. He was a 50+ year member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenter and Joiners of America, a 50+ year member of the Bigelow Lodge # 52 AF & AM, the Osiris Shriners. Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, was an avid sports fan, and car enthusiast, Tom was a great cook, he loved spending time with his family and grandchildren, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He attended the Mt. Morris United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Friday June 23, from 5-8 pm and on Saturday June 24, from 8 – 11 am the service hour with Rev. Jimmy Johnson and Pastor Gina Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Morris Cemetery with Bigelow Lodge #52 conducting graveside rites. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Morris United Methodist Church % Connie Freeman, 1085 Richman Rd. Moatsville, WV 26405
