David E. McVicker, age 58, a resident of Grab-Nickel Rd. Philippi passed away unexpectedly Saturday January 8, 2011 at his residence. He was born January 27, 1952 in Barbour County a son of the late Ersel L. and Wanda (Hathaway) McVicker, and foster parents the late Earl and Bertha Robinson. Surviving is One sister: Delta Syslo and husband Joseph, of Clarksburg Two brothers: Holly C. "Mac" McVicker and wife Kathy of Philippi Eugene L. "Pee Wee" McVicker and wife Theresa of Elk City Community, Philippi Several nieces and nephews, special friend and cousin, the late Kirk McCauley David was preceded in death by one infant brother, one sister Diane McVicker David enjoyed walking down town and to fellowship with many friends. He enjoyed Looney Tune cartoons and loved the old westerns especially John Wayne movies. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Monday January 10, 2011 from 6-9 p.m. and on Tuesday January 11, from 8 -11 a.m. the service hour with Rev. Dr. Robert A. Sisler officiating. Interment will follow in the Clemtown Cemetery.
