Obituary of Annelle Jones

Annelle C. Jones, 90, a resident of Big Run Road, Volga, WV a former resident of Montgomery, NY and Pequannock, New Jersey died at 4:45 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2011. She passed away at her home in Volga where she resided for 19 years with her son, Robert A. Jones and grandson, Jared J. Jones. She was born April 26,1920 in Lee Park, Hanover Township, Pennsylvania. A daughter of the late Joseph and Martha (Dzetaveckas) Rakshys. She is survived by her son, Robert and grandson, Jared. Mrs. Jones was a Mormon and attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Philippi Branch and a member of the Church Relief Society. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph Rakshys, John Rakshys, Frank Rogers and Edwark Rakshys, and three sisters, Mary Diskowski, Anne Sitgreaves and Aldona Wohltman. Mrs. Jones graduated from Hanover High School and Wilkes-Barre Business College. During her long business career she worked for the Dept. of Public Assistance--Pennsylvania Surplus Commodities Divison; Frank Sandola Company; Andrew Jergens Company; North Jersey Paint Company; Westinghouse, Kaplan & Stier, Esqs., S. Herman Cohen, Esq., Bishop Manufacturing Corporation, and Cooper Laboratories, All in New Jersey. She ended her business career managing Oldwick Nursery, Ltd.., a Christmas Tree Farm and Nursery owned by her and her son in Montgomery, NY. In 1986 she retired and moved to Moatsville where she loved with her sister Aldona before moving to Volga. As per her wishes a graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. in the Hunt Family Cemetery.
