Berlin Lee "Bud" Jones age 82 a resident of Dayton Park Rd. Philippi passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2009 at his residence. He was born June 25, 1927 in Philippi a son of the late Glen and Leona (Phillips) Jones. He was united in marriage on August 8, 1953 to Jane (Aird) Jones who survives. Also surviving is; Two Daughters, Paula and husband Jeff Phillips of Philippi Susan and husband John Staub of Imperial, PA Three Sons, Greg and wife Dorothy Jones of Philippi Philip and wife Jackie Jones of Erie PA Stephan and wife Susan Jones of Buckhannon One Brother; Alvy Jones of Malvern, PA Nine grandchildren and Five Great-Grandchildren He was preceded in death by four sisters; B. Pauline Burner, M. Irene Burner, Emmy Maxine Jones and Leona Lorea Chrislip; two brothers; Jess Bruce Jones, and Bernard Jones. Mr. Jones served in the Merchant Marines during WWII and the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. He retired from B&O Railroad, he was a driver the Senior Citizen Nutrition Program and was an avid Ham Radio Operator (WA8FFG) Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, July 16, 2009 from 8-9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Leo Lydon as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Hospice 1600 Crim Ave. Belington, WV 26250.
