Genevieve L. (McVicker) Godwin, age 98, made her home with her nephew Delmer Wolfe, under the care of Mt. Hospice passed away Monday February 13, 2012. She was a former resident of Baughman Towers and in earlier years a resident of Clemtown Community. She was born October 17, 1913 in Barbour County a daughter of the late Floyd and Alda (Mitchell) McVicker. She was united in marriage on July 4, 1956 to Kermit Godwin who preceded her in death August 16, 1989. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbert and Berty Hardy McVicker; two sisters, Kathern McVicker and Carrie Mae Wolfe Upton. Ms. Godwin was a former employee of Broaddus Hospital in the housekeeping department and was a member of Ebenezer Church. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday, February 14, from 6-8 pm and on Wednesday, February 15 from 8am-2 pm the service hour with Rev. David Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Clemtown Cemetery.
