Ralph James Calhoun, Sr., age 76, a resident of Rt. 5 Hodgesville Community Buckhannon, WV, and having moved to Hodgesville, from Warren, OH. passed away Thursday December 6, 2012 in St. Joseph Hospital. He was born March 23, 1936 in Barbour Co. a son of the late Mayberry and Florence Jane (Overfield) Calhoun. He was united in marriage on February 18, 1956 to Barbara J. (Mitchell) Calhoun who survives at home. Also surviving: One daughter; Sandra Thorn and husband Gene of French Creek, WV Two sons: Ralph J. Calhoun, Jr. Michael Calhoun and wife Dina both of Ohio One sisters; Viola Marlowe, of Ohio Three brothers: Simpson Calhoun and wife Norma Delane Calhoun and wife Susie Carl Calhoun and wife Sandy all of Ohio Four grandchildren: Hope Holley, Jason Calhoun, Bryan Calhoun, Brandon, Calhoun Seven great-grandchildren: Tyler Calhoun, Kerrie Holley, Alycee Holley, Brooklyn Calhoun, Travis Calhoun, Johnathon Calhoun, Hannah Calhoun. Mr. Calhoun was preceded in death by two brothers: Paul and Scott Calhoun. Mr. Calhoun retired as a pipe fitter from ITT Crinell in Warren, OH, he was a member of the Victory Assembly of God, in Weston. Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 216 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday December 8, from 5-8 pm and on Sunday December 9, from 8 am – 2:30 pm the service hour with Pastor Mark Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery.
