Obituary of Mary Ethel Marteney

Mary Ethel (Edens) Marteney, age 64, a resident of Buckhannon, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday October 6, 2018 in the St. Joseph Hospital.  She was born May 9, 1954 in Stuttgart Germany, a daughter of the late Orvill “Chuck” and Betty (Haddix) Edens.  Mary was united in marriage on November 15, 1998 to Jerry Marteney who survives at home.  Also surviving

Mary was preceded in death by brother, Calvin Edens, and sister-in-law, Donie Edens

Mary retired as a legal assistant for the Legal Aide of West Virginia.  Mary was a member of the VFW Post #410 Ladies Auxiliary, she enjoyed fishing, cooking, canning, gardening, and crocheting.  She was a Methodist by faith.

Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Tuesday October 9, from 6-8 pm and on Wednesday October 10, from 8-10 am the service hour with Pastor Mark Davis officiating.  Interment will follow in the Marteney Family Cemetery.
