Obituary of Richard Crayton Corder
Richard “Dick” Crayton Corder, Sr., age 76, a resident of Flemington, passed away unexpectedly on Monday October 15, 2018 in Broaddus Hospital. Dick was born December 28, 1941 in Philippi a son of the late James Benton and Claribel (Skidmore) Corder. He was united in marriage on November 6, 1965 to Wanda M (Murphy) who survives at home. Dick was preceded in death by Brother Glen Corder, and Sister Juanita Hannigan
Dick was a Heavy Equipment Operator for King Knob Coal, and was owner/operator of Corder’s Grocery.
He served in the US Army, Dick enjoyed hunting, fishing, and farming. He never met a stranger and enjoyed telling stories.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Wednesday October 17, from 3-8 pm and on Thursday October 18, from 8am- 1 pm the service hour with Rev. Marvin Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Pt. Pleasant Cemetery with full military honors being accorded.
