Obituary of Shirley Joan Tait
Shirley Joan Corder Ware Tait, age 83, a resident of Meadland Rd. Flemington, passed away Wednesday July 10, 2019 at her residence whom was under the care of her daughter Gale for the last two years. Joan was born April 29, 1936 in Barbour County a daughter of the late James B. and Claribel (Skidmore) Corder. Joan was twice married first to Larry Ware and second to Richard Tait both whom preceded her in death. Surviving is-

Joan was also preceded in death by grandson, Brian Bender, sister Juanita Hannigan, brothers, Bud Corder and Richard “Dick” Corder.
Joan was the owner/operator of the Mansfield Grocery and also Ware’s Grocery. She enjoyed gardening, canning, she sold her pies and goods at the Bridgeport Farmers Market and was especially known for her salt rising bread. Joan volunteered at the Galloway Senior Center and also the Heart and Hand. She was graduate of Philippi High School class of 1955.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home 220 N. Walnut St. Philippi on Saturday July 13, from 5-8 pm on Sunday July 14, from 12- 8pm and on Monday from 8-11am. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am with Rev. Patty Post officiating. Interment will follow in the Pt. Pleasant Cemetery.
